Tomislav Facini completed his conducting studies winning the Rector’s Award. He later studied at the Accademia Hans Swarowsky in Milan and the Karlsruhe University of Music. He was a laureate in the International Antonio Pedrotti Competition.

 

His various positions include the Choirmaster of St Mark’s Church Oratory Choir, the Chief Conductor of the Croatian Army Orchestra, the Artistic Director of the St. Donat Music Evenings Festival in Zadar. He is currently the Chief Conductor of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, the Artistic Director of the Croatian Radio and Television Choir, the Artistic Director of the Antiphonus Ensemble, and the Assistant to the Artistic Director for music programme of the prestigious Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

 

Performing both concert and opera repertoire, Tomisal Facini has conducted at practically all Croatian festivals and at many festivals and concert series in the neighboring countries. He released numerous CDs and made recordings for film and phono-archives.

 

In addition to conducting, Facini is engaged in composing and arranging music. He teaches conducting at the Zagreb Academy of Music.
